Catalogue entry

This is a slight continuation of the drawing on folio 28 verso opposite (D03332). There appear to be rain spots on this opening, which may explain why Turner’s notes during this stage of his journey, along Loch Tay from Killin to Kenmore at the eastern end of the loch, are scrappy. He made further drawings of Loch Tay in the 1801 Scotch Lakes sketchbook (Tate D03080–D03091; Turner Bequest LVI 85a–91), and at least one of these (Tate D03088–D03089; Turner Bequest LVI 89a–90) shows heavy rainclouds.
