Catalogue entry

Like the study on the preceding page, folio 21 verso (D01941), this rapid outline sketch was apparently made from a boat on the Menai Strait. It is a slightly closer view, but the movement of the boat or some other interference prevented its being completed. Turner went on to draw the castle again on the versos of folios 23, 24, 25 and 26 (D01945, D01947, D01949, D01951).
