Catalogue entry

Towards the top left, partly obscured by the colour trials, is the following list in pencil:
Peterborough    1
Chester         2
Ely       –     3
Matlock         4
Bridgnorth      5
Parkgate        6
Birmingham      7
These are possibly subjects projected for watercolours to be engraved for the Copper-Plate Magazine. There is also a slight pencil sketch of a loop in the shape of a figure ‘8’ at the centre left. For A.M. Hind’s inscription and the fate of Finberg’s ‘XIX 27’ and ‘27a’ see the introduction to the sketchbook.
