Catalogue entry

An additional line is ruled diagonally from the top of the vertical at the left front of the house down through the trees on the right, and calibrated perhaps to indicate the disposition of dentils on the cornice of the house. Turner used a similar composition for his finished watercolour of the house from the north-west (Tate D00048; Turner Bequest III C).
