Finberg also noted: ‘This is a continuation of drawing on the page which came next in the original book, but I am not quite certain that this was the page now numbered 65’ (that is, the present folio 65, D04724, which he called only ‘Town with lake and mountains beyond’).
Despite Finberg’s reservations, this drawing does match up with that on folio 65 to form a double-page spread of Schaffhausen, with the castle in the present portion. Schaffhausen was Turner’s next stop after Baden, which he drew on the other side of this leaf (D04722) as part of another double-page spread. A closer view of Schaffhausen is on folio 75 (D04735). For the various views of Baden in this sketchbook, see especially folios 15 verso, 58 and 59 (Tate D04668, D04715, D04716).
