Display caption
This design was first published as the frontispiece-vignette to vol.XV of the 'Life and Works' of Byron. Turner's working drawing was supplied by William Page. The subject can be loosely associated with Byron's allusions to 'Scio's muse' (Homer) and 'Scio's vine' in the hymn to Greek liberty in 'Don Juan'.
