Hill places this slight sketch in his list of unidentified subjects from this sketchbook, noting that it lacks ‘landmarks, apart from hills’ and citing Finberg’s suggestion. Turner did draw Cliveden in the sketchbook (D05936; Turner Bequest XCV 32) but this location cannot be confirmed in the present instance.
