This is another sketch related to the unfinished Harvest Home (Tate N00562);1 see note to folio 36a of the sketchbook (D05546). Here, Turner shows the harvest meal laid inside a barn, as in the picture, and ideas for its main groupings of figures are also sketched out, including those gathered round a barrel in the foreground and a proprietor at left.
