For the drawings in this sketchbook made around Walton Bridges and for the picture of a downstream view, Walton Bridges perhaps exhibited at Turner’s Gallery in 1806 and certainly bought by Sir John Leicester in 1807 (the Loyd Collection),1 see note to folio 4 (D05849). The present sketch may also be related to the picture, in particular to its right foreground where there are similar figures and horses on the riverbank and watering at its edge. For further similar, see the verso and folio 8 (D05856, D05857).
