At left is the stern and cabin, with the funnel of the cooking stove, and two figures. The diagram shows the layout of the deck from above, with sleeping and eating accommodation. A related sketch of a cabin and figures is on folio 51 verso (D06023). These sketches were probably made on the Grand Union Canal; see Introduction to the sketchbook.
