And living on the Bank of Thames
delighted
Expanding charmed to his tender hope
The thankful country whose altar Pope
The mansion honor on far Twickenham pride
The Grotto to chant the far trees to save

As well as Alexander Pope’s villa at Twickenham, Turner refers to the grotto in its gardens, their most famous feature.
