Rather than Winchelsea, this is Hastings seen from near the viewpoint on folio 56 of the sketchbook (D05673), identified by Eric Shanes as Ore Place. See also folios 55, 57 and 58 (D05672, D05674, D05675).
There is a stain or red ink or wax upper left of centre and other discolouration.
