The drawing of Dunbar Castle on this page is continued from the previous sheet (see folio 24 verso; D13496). The drawing, along with two further versions in the Scotch Antiquities sketchbook, formed the basis of Turner illustration of Dunbar, circa 1823 (watercolour, private collection)1 for the Provincial Antiquities publication. This half of the picture shows the ruins of the castle on a headland that descends into the sea in the foreground and to the right.
