Across folios 17 verso–18 (D25959–D25960; CCLXVII 17a–18) are views of Abbotsford from the south-west. On the present page is a view of the southern half of the house from the drive. It continues slightly onto folio 18 with the arcaded garden wall that separates the northern half of the house. At the top of the page is a small sketch of a shield. This is probably a repeat of the shield above the porch entrance.
For references to all of Turner’s sketches of Abbotsford see folio 16 verso (D25957; CCLXVII 16a).
