Both sketches on this page were made at Dunollie Castle about a mile north of Oban on the coast of Argyll. At the top is a view of the castle from the beach to the east. The view is similar to that on folio 95 (D26928), and looks north-west to Maiden Island with the rocky Argyll coast and the hils of Morvern beyond.
The second sketch, across the centre of the page, probably shows the view in the opposite direction: looking south towards the cliffs at Oban at the left, and the island of Kerrera at the right with Ardantrive Bay. Further views from Dunollie Castle, or from near the castle, are on folios 93 verso and 96 (D26925, D26930). For sketches of Dunollie Castle see folio 95.
