This sketch looks south down Loch Ness with Urquhart Castle on the western shore just left of centre. Turner made numerous of sketches of the castle, including several looking back towards the castle from the loch to the north (see folio 19; D26998 for references). This sketch includes four boats, all of which appear to be at anchor.
