Accepted by the nation as part of the Turner Bequest 1856
Finberg states that Ruskin’s instruction for mounting appeared in the margin of what is now folio 16 verso (D05486; LXXXIX 28a). Its position must have changed when the book was restitched and cut sheets rejoined.
