Turner has used the inside back cover of this sketchbook for various inscriptions including some financial notations and what may be a list of artists and paintings. The text is largely illegible but can be transcribed as follows: in pencil ‘300 Lira. 10 Francs 7 | 5 | M[...] a [?Bi...] Le [?Je...] | Stella [...] P[...] | Sall[...] [?St] [...] [?Eu]’, and in black ink, ‘10 [?8] 151[?1]’, and in pencil ‘P [?Rivaldi]. Interspersed between the notes are a couple of schematic drawings including a study of a figure. Similar jottings can be found on folio 67 verso (D16761; Turner Bequest CXCII 66a).
