The subject of this sketch is too rough to be conclusively identified but it appears to depict a street or passageway covered by canopies. The location may be Boffalora sopra Ticino, the subject of the preceding studies in the sketchbook, see folio 44 (D14228; Turner Bequest CLXXIV 43).
