Turner has used the inside back cover of the sketchbook as an additional page and the sheet contains three sketches of mountainous landscape. The drawings are too rough to be conclusively identified, although the uppermost study represents a distant view of the Alps within which the artist has noted the respective locations of Mont Blanc and Mont Cenis.
