This page contains two sketches:
i. (main sketch) Vevey from the landing-place, with the Grande Place at the left, the Cathedral of St Martin above, and a tower (?La Tour Carrée) beyond; to the right is La Tour de Peilz. This is a more distant view than appears on the opposite page (D29063; Turner Bequest CCXCIII 16a), but closer than that preceding it (D29061; Turner Bequest CCXCIII 15a). Turner sketched a similar subject on his first visit to Vevey in 1802 (Tate D04535; Turner Bequest LXXIV 42), and also on a later visit in 1841 (Tate D33477, D33491; Turner Bequest CCCXXXII 7, 21).
ii. (along top edge, inverted) Mountain profile.
