Drawn inverted in relation to the main numbered sequence of subjects in the sketchbook, this is the left (and main) section of a two-part panorama of Geneva from the junction of the Rivers Rhône and Arve, with the cathedral in the centre right distance, and Mont Salève to the right, whence it is continued on the opposite page (D29137; Turner Bequest CCXCIII 53a).
