This page contains three sketches:
i. (main sketch) A mountain panorama with a castle on rising ground to the left, inscribed ‘C St Pierre comes in front of Lon [?]’, and thus possibly near St Pierre, Val d’Aosta.
ii. (centre, below the main sketch) Distant mountains, possibly in the Val d’Aosta, inscribed ‘Light [?]’ left, and ‘Rosa [?]’ left of centre.
iii. (bottom, inverted in relation to sketches i and ii) Susa, the Via Palazzo di Citta. Turner probably took this sketch from a hotel room since his viewpoint is well above street level.
