Finberg’s identification of this sketch as showing the River Torridge,1 is probably correct by association with sketches on adjacent pages, but this scene with a church tower above a wooded valley awaits positive identification. For views in the area of Bideford, near the mouth of the Torridge, see under folio 79 recto (D09564).
