The view of the Thames Valley westwards from Richmond Hill on folios 17 verso–18 recto (D13778, D13779) appears to be inscribed ‘Windsor’, hence Finberg’s suggestion of the locality of the present sketch, which may well show the River Thames. The study, inverted relative to the sketchbook’s foliation, continues on folio 26 recto opposite (D13790).
