With the sketchbook turned vertically, the trunk of the tree in this slight drawing is concluded on folio 16 verso (D09914), which is missing its top or outer half and hence partly overlaps the present page. What may be the same tree is shown on folio 17 recto (D09915), under which its possible significance is discussed.
