Inverted relative to the sketchbook’s foliation, this view to the west across Virginia Water with the Five Arch Bridge in the distance, continues on folio 80 verso opposite (D22127; Turner Bequest CCXXXVIII 78a), where the Chinese Fishing Temple appears. The bridge is also seen on folio 88 recto (D22141; Turner Bequest CCXXXVIII 86); designed by Sir Jeffry Wyattville (1766–1840), it was completed in 1827.1
