As Ian Warrell has noted, the main view of Haddon Hall is from the north;1 the Eagle Tower (also called Peverel’s Tower) is on the left, with the North Front running south-west to the right. The sketch continues across about a third of folio 31 recto (D22206), the present page having been pushed back to facilitate this.
At the top right here is part of a loose drawing, also continued on D22206, apparently showing an aspect of the hall and its surroundings; at the bottom left, upside down in relation to the main view, is a very slight sketch which probably shows the southern corner of the house above the pedestrian Dorothy Vernon’s Bridge over the River Wye. For other views see under folio 24 recto (D22192).
