Here Turner has produced a cursory jotting of a river barge on a canal and a view of the Minnewater in the Flemish city of Bruges. The tower (called the Poertoren) at the Minnewater, the Church of Our Lady, and the Belfry can be seen in profile. Turner visited Bruges briefly on his journey from Ghent to Ostend from 6 to 7 September.
