With the sketchbook turned horizontally, Turner filled much of this page with a view of wooded hillsides punctuated by buildings. Although the scenery is too generic to identify the location definitively, this volume contains multiple views of the countryside in the Île-de-France region around Paris as outlined in the sketchbook Introduction.
