These cursory and swiftly rendered sketches depict scenes on the coast at Yarmouth, Norfolk. The uppermost view shows fishermen surrounding a small, beached vessel with what appears to be a cart to its left. At centre Turner pictures the same view as is recorded on the folio opposite (Tate D18199; Turner Bequest CCIX 22a), this time from further away. The lowermost prospect is a sea view with a boat moored at shore and an expansive sky filled with ‘Pink’ light and fast-moving clouds.
