The date and occasion of these sketches of the distant view of Paris as seen from Saint-Cloud are not known. However, Turner specialist Ian Warrell has speculated that it may record an otherwise undocumented expedition to the site from Paris during the 1826 tour.1 See the Introduction to this section for a list of comparable studies of this site.

Technical Notes:
The sheet bears a horizontal crease across the centre where it has been folded in half. The pencil sketches are all above the crease line. There are brown stains down the right-hand edge of the sheet.
