Accepted by the nation as part of the Turner Bequest 1856
These rough sketches were most probably taken whilst Turner was on the road, travelling by carriage from Dresden towards Teplitz (modern day Teplice in the Czech Republic). An inscription reading ‘[...]tenburg’ is dashed off at top centre. The central and lower sketches extend onto the folio opposite (Tate D30310; Turner Bequest CCCI 8).
