Between June and August 1978 the Tate Gallery held a large-scale exhibition of Henry Moore’s work to celebrate the artist’s eightieth birthday. The exhibition comprised three sections: a retrospective exhibition of Moore’s drawings; a display of the thirty-six sculptures included in the Henry Moore Gift; and in the Duveen Gallery, seen in this photograph, a display of Moore’s work owned by Tate prior to his gift.
