Finberg’s 1909 Inventory of the Bequest assigns this work the generic title ‘View’.1 The semicircular lines and rough markings across the centre of the page are too cursory to be identified, although they possibly represent the arches of a bridge. The squiggle above is either a hastily scrawled inscription or a feature of the landscape.
