At the bottom is a continuation of the harbour view on folio 55 verso opposite (D35584), which may show Le Tréport, of which there is an identified view on folio 55 recto (D35583).
Inverted relative to the sketchbook’s foliation and overlapping with the view is a study of two women in bonnets, walking or standing, as well as one or two slighter figures; they were perhaps observed in the vicinity.
Technical notes:
There is some brown staining at the gutter, possibly indicating water damage in the 1928 Tate flood.
