The drawing here is particularly faint, and was not even noticed by Finberg in his 1909 Turner Bequest Inventory, but there is the suggestion towards the left of foliage, and horizontal and vertical strokes perhaps indicating a structure, possibly a canal lock as seen on the verso (D08299) and folio 11 recto (D08300). There are various identified and likely subjects along the Thames in this sketchbook, as discussed in the Introduction. The numbers were presumably inscribed on another occasion, with the page turned vertically.
