The view was perhaps drawn from the same spot as that on its verso (D08743; CXXIII 208a); if so, it is possibly continuous with the latter, where Turner looked further to the left. The location may be on or around the lower Tamar, as Finberg suggested, or the Hamoaze (the Tamar Estuary). For other views in the Plymouth area, see under folio 3 verso (D08367).
