Falling between sketches made in and around Farnley Hall, the North Yorkshire home of Turner’s friend and patron Walter Fawkes (see the sketchbook’s Introduction), this and the studies on folios 81 recto and verso (D09781, D09782; CXXXIII 80, 80a) are likely to have been made in the vicinity.
Technical notes:
There is some offsetting from the drawing on folio 81 recto opposite (D09781; CXXXIII 80).
