Turner made dozens of pencil studies of works of art and antiquities in Rome, particularly in the Vatican and Capitoline Museums, as well as other collections throughout the city. This page contains sketches which appear to depict a sculptural relief of classical figures and a sarcophagus decorated with a wave-like strigil pattern. The source is currently unidentified.
