This is a sketch of an unidentified town, taken from its main square. An arcaded building can be seen at centre, next to the baroque bell tower of a church or town hall (continued onto the folio opposite, Tate D30817; Turner Bequest CCCIV 99). An illegible inscription has been written at rear.
