There is a gabled building in the centre beyond the tall trees, and what may be a barn or stacks to the right. Hills seem to be indicated on both sides. The drawing’s position in the sketchbook adjacent to identified Devon scenes suggests that also represents a view in the county. The trees on the verso (D08505) may have stood nearby.
Technical notes:
There is some ink offsetting from the inscription on folio 73 verso opposite (D08503; CXXIII 70a).
