These are two prospects of Arundel Castle, the ancient seat of the Dukes of Norfolk, overlooking the Arun Valley from atop a motte. The Church of St Nicholas can be seen to the left of the Castle within the grounds.
These sketches are associated with Turner’s watercolour designs for W.B.
