This is a view of Bolton Castle, drawn with the page turned horizontally, looking north-east from near Aysgarth Church, and effectively the continuation to the left of the sketch on folio 136 recto (D11269; Turner Bequest CXLV 135). The whole panorama is comprehended in a sketch taken from above Aysgarth Church in the Yorkshire 4 book (Tate D11466; Turner Bequest CXLVII 16).
The present author has dated this sketch to Sunday 28 July 1816.1
