The subject of this sketch is very faint but it appears to depict the bridge spanning the Alpienbach (also known as the Fressinone or Frassinone) waterfall from within the Swiss entrance (or Italian exit) of the Gallery of Gondo. For a description of the location and the view looking in the opposite direction towards the bridge see folio 23 verso (D16933).
