What appears to be a single view on this page may in fact be two sketches. We see a landscape with a tower in the middle-distance and mountains in the distance. The tower is likely to be the keep of Brough Castle seen from the north as in folio 36 (D25593), while the mountains are more likely to be the series of fells to the north. Turner therefore seems to have used the same page for sketches looking north and south. The sketch of mountains continues on folio 34 verso (D25590).
