Turner scholar David Hill says that the view, drawn with the page turned horizontally, is taken looking south, up the valley from a point near Grange, between Derwentwater and Borrowdale village itself. The leaf should follow folio 26 recto (D01079; Turner Bequest XXXV 77), a view along Derwentwater from Grange Fell.
