A Rhine castle is depicted in the uppermost sketch, inscribed twice, illegibly, ‘D[...]’. The remaining three sketches show Eltville on the Rhine. The Church of St Peter and St Paul and the turreted tower of the Electoral Castle are visible.
Various largely illegible inscriptions annotate the drawings: ‘Elfelt’ is inscribed at centre (presumably referring to Eltville), ‘Ringau’ for the Rheingau district is at centre right, ‘S[...]’ is at centre towards bottom left, ‘V’ is at bottom left, ‘M[...] D[...] [...]’ and ‘S[...]’ are at bottom left, and ‘Elfelt’ is at bottom right.
