Drawn with the sketchbook inverted, this is one of several views a medieval ruins thought by Finberg to belong to Pevensey Castle; see also folios 63 verso and 64 verso (D10298, D10300; Turner Bequest CXXXVII 60a, 61a). However, this does not seem certain.
