The substantial stone bridge over the River Derwent is the viewpoint for this view of Chatsworth House from the west, with the Tudor Hunting Tower at the top left brought a little to the right of its true juxtaposition on the escarpment beyond. At the top right is a slight sketch apparently showing the house from the north-west. Turner’s ‘5’ and 10’ appear to refer to groupings of balusters on the bridge. For other views of Chatsworth, see under D22231.
